Ok. So I ended up purchasing 5 Mp3 versions of Thunderstorms at once since they were offered at a GREAT price AND: Very important: The samples you hear are in NO WAY indicative of the quality of the actual product you receive. This point has actually kept me from buying any mp3s at all due to the possibility of "artifacting" with really crappy mp3 transfers. (The Mp3 I received from Amazon was top-notch. Very Very satisfied :) (256kbps.. I only wish they would offer "Normal Stereo" instead of "Joint Stereo", but that is a personal preference) I am in the audio engineering field and have a very revealing, yet modest, full-range sound system. -and the LAST thing i want is to hear poorly recorded events in nature that have only a narrow spectrum of reproduction OR have been altered and or messed with. If you have a reasonably good -not just decent- Sub-woofer, You will be very happy with this mp3. It sounds Very convincing and the Thunder is not overbearing, but full and natural. Perfect for simulating a Real storm while playing Yhatzee or something with your friends on a cloudy, Sunday afternoon :) You may have to spend a teeny bit of time if you have a full-frequency sound system to find the right level to sleep to, but it's well worth it. And possible. I actually will use this cd daily for either sleeping, or at louder, more realistic volumes in the afternoon for just the fun of having my own personal storm to read to as well. :) -Really well done. Natural, and not at all like SOME of the other recordings i received that will actually sample and cut and paste thunder sounds over random splashy rain. Oh GOD... I can't say which one due to slander rules... but Oh dear... SO BAD!!! lol ;) -Anyway, i hope this sheds a little light on the subject. Happy purchasing! -- Just Fabulous :)
This MP3 is great to go to sleep to. The waves, rain and thunder provide a great background for your mind to unwind with. -- Very Relaxing
This is a beautiful and calming blend of rain, ocean waves and distant thunder. I turn it on in my office (next to my bedroom) to block out the noise from the streets of lower Manhattan. It works beautifully! And such a lovely blend of sounds. Highly recommended. And cheap! -- my favorite rain and ocean recording - I play it all night long to block out street noise
