This is not a documentary or anything like what is described below. It is a music CD with jellies on a complete dark, black background. There is no exploration of the beauty of life and the sea as described in the product description, nothing at all except black background. The description is designed to confuse the consumer in order to sell the product. If you like to have a Jellies screen saver then that is what you will get, not a documentary. -- not a documentary, it is a screen saver
...for a change. This is not a documentary, nor was it made to accompany a special exhibit. It is simply what it is: a high definition video loop of well-lit jellyfish ambulating over a dark background. If you understand this before purchasing it, there will be no disappointment. In fact, far from it. This is utilizing a TV screen for something quite different than what it is normally for: ambience art, a background, something to accompany whatever activity you may wish to be involved in without the relentless interruption of dialogue.

Ambient entertainment, be it visual or audio, should be interesting enough to keep your attention should you choose to watch it, but easy to ignore should you choose not to. Consider it for what it is: slowing moving/evolving art. As in any museum or picture book, the viewer should not expect the art to talk or tell a narrative story. Such is the case with this DVD. This is a pleasant viewing experience, able to viewed frequently without ever becoming boring.

Nuts and bolts: This DVD will automatically loop (although many modern players have a repeat function). That said, without a timing readout, the loop is so seamless, you'd never know when it happens. You have the option of different music accompaniment, including "new age" and classical. The selections provided here are pretty generic, but if you are picky about what you listen to and don't like what it comes with, you can choose no music and play your own CDs instead or listen in silence. Also, while not well promoted, this disc also comes with "bonus" loops featuring ambient skies and water scenes, which are also extraordinarily soothing. Finally, you don't need a flat screen TV to enjoy this; it works just fine on "old-style" tube monitors as well.

Overall, this is highly recommended to anyone who can see the potential of a TV monitor being used as something beyond strictly a story-telling device... using it as an art form instead.
-- TV without a story...
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R1PYU5B9ZBF637 I first saw this DVD playing on a huge flat screen in a restaurant. I found it mesmerizing and felt I had to get it. I finally got my copy and have to say that it adds to the ambiance of any space and not only serves as a stunning background, but also as a source of escapism and retreat. I highly recommend this to anyone who appreciates the beauty of nature and the benefits of 'getting lost,' even for just a moment. -- Like a mini escape to an underwater dreamscape!

The jellyfish are very soothing to the eye, they are relaxing, and beautiful to watch.
I highly recommend this DVD. -- relaxing
This video is out of this world. If you're looking for a jellyfish video for your TV, this is it, look no further. I was so pleasantly surprised, it's much better than I expected. The jellyfish are shot with a black background and they appear several at a time like they are coming out of nowhere. It's actual swimming, very slow and appealing. They also have extra views on the DVD that have red or blue lighting effects that are truly mesmerizing. I rarely review anything, but this thing blew me away. -- Most Beautiful Jellyfish Videos I've seen
